Such grief is nothing new to me
Immersed in all my ponderings
I lay at home to rest my head
My weariness is second best
My color orange my victory blue
It's hard to know just what to do
I feel so manic and depressed
I feel I need to face the test
My written words, they even seek
For understanding and relief
The pen is strong (my medicine)
My perch is unintelligent
Good grief.. I feel like Charlie Brown
I want to go and paint the town
My love is so thick and wide
Its trapped in me so deep inside
I wish for vengeance! A heartless beast
But than I see what I mean..
I'm just a lonely man today
But soon the feeling fades away
Soon the waves will wash away
All the emptiness and grey
And than I'll meet my brazen love
Such beauty will become of us!!
She's such a dime, and polished too
She's probably hiding in Puru
Immersed in such a simple prayer
I want to comb her dreaded hair
I want to show her something new
Grow a garden lush with fruit
I want.to live.within a palace
And wear the threads of sultan's fabrics
Ah but this will be the day
That all my sadness pass away
I'll transfer from a cloud or kiss
And ring out past the sunken ship

Lover of the Light
Like a moth I am
A lover of the nocturnal night
A voyager to valleys bright
A ravishing beauty is my delight
I journey through-out the elements
The thick and beneficial
With carefully selected colors
I paint using my easel
Sometimes I trust the weasel
Sometimes I search in people
During the Hard times
Poke and prod perchance
For pins and needles
Yes it is so intimate
So wondrous to see
A lover of the light
That delights in light like me
A lover of the nocturnal night
A voyager to valleys bright
A ravishing beauty is my delight
I journey through-out the elements
The thick and beneficial
With carefully selected colors
I paint using my easel
Sometimes I trust the weasel
Sometimes I search in people
During the Hard times
Poke and prod perchance
For pins and needles
Yes it is so intimate
So wondrous to see
A lover of the light
That delights in light like me

Dad
Lots on my mind, so can I recline?
I don't mean to whine or to spoil the time
I'm just a bit bruised by the things that you prove
Walking around as though nothing is true
Wearing a crown as if nothing is loose
When I enter the field I'll be lacing my boots
Can I rest my eyes? for the way is long
And the ground is firm, which I walk upon
Theres a sudden song, and a patient poem
It's alright with me, surely I'll be going
Surely I'll move on, surely you will too
Sorry it took so long, lord will see me through
It's a common tale, told again again
Brought into awareness by the passing wind

Underwater Library
Excite the populous, even the Andromedans
For those of you who populate, I'm speaking of the aliens
While airwaves grow, increasingly crowded
The plane over the Philippines was finally spotted
The passengers turned into ghosts
After crossing salted coasts
Should've took the longer route...
Floated eastbound on a boat
Though violent seas might shake the cabinets
Rearrange a persons stature
And the journals that were wrote?
Fall into the ocean backwards
Memoirs and soliloquies, fading into history
And all the pages full of quotes,
Pens upheld with proper strokes,
Horrid tales & Anecdotes,
Going down like the grandest hoax
Rise up from the ocean depth
Streams of unknown polygraphs
Written with apologies
Brought to me like books to read
Yes I understand your plight
Coming from the darkest night
Praying that you equalize
Poems upon the countryside
Rise up from the ocean depth
Streams of unknown polygraphs
Written with apologies
Brought to me like books to read
Yes I understand your plight
Coming from the darkest night
Praying that you equalize
Poems upon the countryside

What's really Important
What's really important, the manor or fortress?
The pleasures of flesh and the girls that are gorgeous?
I ask myself, and though tantalized by imagery, my hearthstone must crest, unraveling mystery
A long pause and a sigh, for memories of misery, a crusade of calamity that moments have given me
Now I write as a composer retracing his history through dancing piano keys rendering symphonies
What's really important to me?
Is it the bill? The skill? The red and blue pill?
The proposal of truth and an increase in will?
I suppose that this prose somewhat tickles me
Though my mind is appeased my soul aims for symmetry
That can be found in the feelings of home
Adrift in this sea I allow my mind to roam
And stumble upon something I've long forgot
Due to touching and receiving a jolt that's too hot
My emotional memory, the clearance of clarity
My friends and my family & being that harbors us
Not merely the home but the feeling of belonging
Not simply the day but the hour of it's dawning
There in lies so much to be felt without touch
And be drawn into dream with awareness
Though my mind survives I've no doubt in due time
It will fall by the wayside as my heart makes it's strides
Just to vision the lives, makes me break down and cry
That are changed by a word or a gesture of eye
All the faces that I can harbor in this heart
Pathways and poets with patience in art
Damn.. it really gets me
I love where it takes me
And if love must do so
Allow it to break me
Shatter my pieces amongst a bright shore
So a passer discovers a mystery once more
Just allow me to lead a life with this heart
Even if struck with pain as sharp as a dart
I just want to breed this language of love
Even if a word doesn't seem like enough
Let me be present in my heart
Cause that's what's important
To love and to feel and to live... all important

While I'm Rapping
Things happen while I'm rapping, soul tapping
Worry our whole lives on things that never happen
Wound in a ball of yarn steady unwrapping
And when the end is reached that's the story played backwards
Rather take flight than take action
Lend a loan of time to self proclaimed mavericks, what's lacking?
An emptiness that's too opaque to fathom
An openness that's free of sarcasm
Just asking..
Where is man who yields his own lantern?
And fixates his word with a passion?
Steady do these fables rise, in my mind and through these eyes
Intermixed with joys and sighs, heavy cuts and lullaby
This moment free of all disguise, a crochet and a pattern
A symbol nor a standard, nor mathematicians average
Just me.. speaking out and willing to receive
I see the moment that we grieve is the moment we reprieve
Recover.. than pass the knowledge back to one another
Open up the dusted book just to rediscover
An archive of all wonder, the thunder of the summer
The fall of fortresses, and life's steady metamorphosis
You see...Things happen while I'm rapping, soul tapping
Cast a net into pools of thought, just to release what I'm catching
Strive again to strike a chord, to realize what I'm lacking
In the end the words are just a fraction

Method to Cope
Just one of those days that nothing starts my way
Sat staring into decay, a whole life on replay
Makes me smirk that I look like I jerk
When I speak, think or feel all the things that don't work
And everything apart from sunshine looks superficial
The cloudy skies, the shallow eyes, the lows and highs we live through
There's no fire in my belly, air in my lungs, earth 'neath my feet
Steady pacing off beat on blacktop and concrete
Calculate odds, risk, gains, expectation
Without a clue to what I was facing
Now I'm flagrant at the process of aging
Much like the smile of a mother whose beauty is fading
And yeah I've been fighting when my senses are heightened
Towards a stance and a state of esteem that's enlightened
But voices back me like "why are you writing?"
"what do you live for? why get excited?"
A familiar black whole positioned inward towards soul
Just like summer construction it be blocking the roads
To grow, to sew, something sweet as a cherry
Leaving the mean and unsavory to seem nessacary
Now there's work to be done, better leave it at that
Shoot I'll be tending the garden somewhere far off the map
Got a problem with that? mellow down have a smoke
And may we all find a method to cope..
