What's really Important

What's really important, the manor or fortress?
The pleasures of flesh and the girls that are gorgeous?
I ask myself, and though tantalized by imagery, my hearthstone must crest, unraveling mystery
A long pause and a sigh, for memories of misery, a crusade of calamity that moments have given me
Now I write as a composer retracing his history through dancing piano keys rendering symphonies

What's really important to me?
Is it the bill? The skill? The red and blue pill?
The proposal of truth and an increase in will?
I suppose that this prose somewhat tickles me
Though my mind is appeased my soul aims for symmetry
That can be found in the feelings of home
Adrift in this sea I allow my mind to roam
And stumble upon something I've long forgot
Due to touching and receiving a jolt that's too hot

My emotional memory, the clearance of clarity
My friends and my family & being that harbors us
Not merely the home but the feeling of belonging
Not simply the day but the hour of it's dawning

There in lies so much to be felt without touch
And be drawn into dream with awareness
Though my mind survives I've no doubt in due time
It will fall by the wayside as my heart makes it's strides
Just to vision the lives, makes me break down and cry
That are changed by a word or a gesture of eye
All the faces that I can harbor in this heart
Pathways and poets with patience in art

Damn.. it really gets me
I love where it takes me
And if love must do so
Allow it to break me
Shatter my pieces amongst a bright shore
So a passer discovers a mystery once more

Just allow me to lead a life with this heart
Even if struck with pain as sharp as a dart
I just want to breed this language of love
Even if a word doesn't seem like enough
Let me be present in my heart
Cause that's what's important
To love and to feel and to live... all important
