Sea of Sadness

Watch the waves of the ocean pass
Having no interest to where they may land
No intent on changing their course
Standing upright on the edge of sadness

Wading in the waters of everlasting calm
Dreaming of the sun soon to rise
Fishing from a stormy beach
Measuring the oceans depth

It’s breath and width is wide
It’s limits out of sight
 Blinding during the day
And sparkling through the night

Tell me how I should feel
An unending distance beckons me
My mind opens to an imagined freedom
Waiting on the opposite shore...

... as Patient as the virtue itself

Reflections

Falling is the rain on cement bricks
Taken from the tame during the birth of the storm
Wings damp and unsuited for flying
The moon shows it's mystery

Moments of happiness for decades of pain
Would you make the trade
Or live in the shade of a hundred days
Past without look into the past you ask

Purposefully and without doubt
Could there be a different route?
Taken from the spanning dates
Thrown into a different way

Sometimes we just need a release
To realize a slice of peace
In the flames of our own turmoil
Wondering if there is a future for us

Existence is on our side
Perhaps even while we are turned against it
The light seeps from behind our shadows
Slowly drawing us to rebirth ourselves
